Russia's UAZ Plans To Double Sales Of SUVs To State In 2003
MOSCOW February 21, 2003; Dow Jones reports Russian automaker Ulianovsk Automobile Plant , owned by Russia's largest steel producer OAO Severstal , Friday said it expects to double sales of its sports utility vehicles in 2003 to state organizations from 1,500 in 2002.
UAZ late 2002 developed a new SUV model, Simbir, which is designed especially for use by police and the army, and which it forecasts to sell well to the law- enforcement agencies in both 2003 and 2004.
