Syntel CEO to Participate in Panel Discussion on Offshore Outsourcing



       Title: 'Offshore Outsourcing for IT -- What's Driving the Users?

    TROY, Mich., Feb. 20 -- Syntel Chairman and CEO
Bharat Desai will take part in a focused panel discussion at Northwestern
University on February 22, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. (CST) on the topic of offshore
IT outsourcing.  The event is sponsored by the Indian Institute of Technology
(IIT) Midwest Alumni Organization.
    The panel, entitled "Offshore Outsourcing for IT -- What's Driving the
Users? Expected from the Vendors," will explore the various models for
managing IT services in a global delivery setting, as well as best practices,
economic considerations and project management matters.
    A growing number of U.S. corporations are adopting offshore IT outsourcing
practices to drive down costs, increase quality and improve speed to market
for managing their information technology environment.  Research firm
Forrester predicts that the offshore outsourcing market will nearly double to
$18 billion by 2005.
