Exide Technologies to Supply Goodyear Service Centers Through Parts Plus



    PRINCETON, N.J., Feb. 19 -- Exide Technologies (OTC Bulletin Board: EXDTQ)(http://www.exide.com ), through an
alliance with its customer, Parts Plus, will begin supplying batteries to
Goodyear Service Centers.  Exide is a global leader in stored electrical-
energy solutions.
    Parts Plus is one of the largest automotive aftermarket program groups in
the industry.  The company signed a three-year agreement to be the primary
battery supplier for the 605 Goodyear company-owned auto service centers
throughout the United States.  Parts Plus and Goodyear enjoy a 20-plus year
parts supply relationship, which is one of the longest in the automotive
aftermarket.  Goodyear Service Centers offer tires, batteries and automotive
repairs backed by nationwide warranties.  Exide, which has been a supplier to
Parts Plus for 13 years, will provide the private-label AutoSaver and the
branded Exide NASCAR Select(R) and Exide Select Orbital(R) products for the
program.
    The maintenance-free Exide NASCAR Select(R) is engineered to deliver
maximum performance under the toughest highway or off-road conditions.  The
Exide Select Orbital(R) features revolutionary cylindrically wound technology
that produces a virtually indestructible starting battery that retains its
capacity, is maintenance free, and leakproof.
