Viisage Receives $12 Million Award from the State of Oklahoma; Marks Third Contract in Recent Months; Contracts Total $35 Million

    LITTLETON, Mass.--Feb. 18, 2003--Viisage Technology, Inc. , the leader in identity verification, announced today that the company has been chosen to fulfill the new digital driver license contract by the state of Oklahoma's Department of Public Safety. Viisage's contract will include the design, development and implementation of the statewide secure license production program. The total value of this new multi-year contract is approximately $12 million. Oklahoma is the 19th state to utilize Viisage in the production of identity verification documents and the third state in recent months to give Viisage a major driver license contract. The three latest contracts total approximately $35 million.
    The solution, developed by Viisage, will integrate multiple, advanced identification security features, including its FaceEXPLORER(TM) facial recognition software and SAGEM Morpho finger imaging technology. The state-of-the-art system will facilitate the rapid identification and verification of license applicants, allowing the state to quickly produce highly-secure identification documents while at the same time helping to safeguard Oklahoma residents from identity theft and fraud.
    Commissioner Bob Ricks of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (DPS) commented on the award stating, "Viisage provided us with an advanced technology solution that will help streamline our license operation and protect our citizens. In doing so, Viisage demonstrated its clear leadership position and its understanding of our need to produce very secure credentials for the citizens of Oklahoma."
    The new system will function seamlessly within the DPS technical environment incorporating a Viisage Central Image Server. Additionally, Viisage will provide complete workstations capable of performing application processing and producing durable, finished driver licenses and ID cards on printers from Atlantek, Inc.
