Celtron Capitalizes on New Generation Cellular Technology
MIDRAND, South Africa--Feb. 18, 2003--Celtron International Inc. (OTCBB:CLTR) announced today that it has successfully concluded its first field tests on its New Generation Vehicle Tracking System utilizing new developments in the GSM Cellular environment."The ongoing developments in cellular technologies -- and more specifically GSM cellular -- continue to create new business opportunities," said Allen Harington, CEO of Celtron International Inc. "The most recent developments, being General Packet Radio Services (GPRS), create a platform that will forever change the perspective of remote vehicle tracking, monitoring and management," he added.
GPRS enabled networks offer 'live-online,' higher capacity, Internet-based content and packet-based data services. This enables services such as color Internet browsing, e-mail on the move, powerful visual communications, multimedia messages and location-based services.
"We will now continue with our test program with Daimler Chrysler (South Africa) for the integration of our system into the onboard computer systems of trucks and passenger vehicles," said Mr. Harington. "According to Mr. Sydney Darrier of Daimler Chrysler (South Africa), this development is very exciting and creates massive opportunities for their company to increase their service levels to their clients," he added. Essentially this integration will have the effect that a company such as Daimler will have remote, online diagnostic access to the operating parameters of a vehicle in question, with the advantage of having instantaneous advance warning of possible mechanical failure.
"Our new product design also allows for the attachment of peripheral devices through standard connection protocols to capitalize on the full spectrum of this exciting new mobile data platform," said Mr. Harington. "Our end-users will, for instance, end up with a remotely managed tracking system that offer in-car navigation, Internet applications you are used to on your desktop -- from web browsing, e-mail to chat -- and a high speed data communicator over the mobile network. The possibilities are endless," he added.
The product will be launched to coincide with the opening of the UK subsidiary, which is earmarked for later this year.
Celtron's platform technology is a flexible, mobile-cellular data communications device, coupled with a proprietary software system and integrated management services for the system. This technology is currently being integrated with GPS and applied in a sophisticated automated vehicle-tracking, management and recovery system offering a flexible, interactive real-time solution to the total vehicle market, ranging from heavy commercial fleet-based vehicles, light commercial vehicles, to passenger vehicles.
This suite of vehicle-tracking products and services, consist of the "Buddi-Track," "Mobi-Track" and the software management system "Travel Partner."
