(The Truth About What is REALLY Happening.)

Family and friends of murder victims, auto racing legend Mickey Thompson and his wife, Trudy, were surprised and deeply saddened on Valentines Day when inaccurate information was released to the media and appeared in print.
Some reports made it appear that the Fourth District Court of Appeal had ruled against the prosecution regarding the Orange County jurisdiction of the trial for the Thompson murders.
In truth, the District Court of Appeal has merely agreed to hear arguments on the question whether or not Orange County has jurisdiction in the murder trial of Goodwin. Two Orange County Superior Court Judges have previously ruled that Orange County does have territorial jurisdiction to try the case.
Michael F. Goodwin was arrested December 13, 2001 and remains in jail awaiting trial for the double homicide, on a no-bail status. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and three special circumstance charges: Lying in wait, murder for financial gain and multiple homicides. Nearly 15 years ago, March 16, 1988, the Thompsons were shot to death as they were leaving their Bradbury, CA, home on their way to work at 6:00 a.m.
Division 3, Fourth Appellate Court, 925 N. Spurgeon, Santa Ana, CA is scheduled to hear arguments by the defense and prosecution at 9: a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2003. It normally takes several weeks for the Court of Appeal to release their decisions.
