CSPA Launches Product Care(SM)
Product Stewardship Program Commits Industry to Best Practices
WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 -- The Consumer Specialty Products Association unveiled Product Care(SM), its new product stewardship program, today at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
Product Care(SM) is a voluntary program with a Code of Management Practice that provides guidelines for developing, manufacturing, distributing and marketing products made by CSPA member companies. The program aims to provide safe and effective products for the household, commercial, institutional and industrial consumers. It is designed to complement stewardship efforts that participant companies already implement in their own operations.
The Product Care(SM) program offers a positive venue for member companies to focus on seven areas of operation in their practice of product stewardship. They include Product Design; Raw Material, Package and Service Supply; Manufacture and Production Site Management; Product Storage and Distribution; In-market Support, Incident Evaluation and Follow-up; Consumer Education and Outreach; and Product Disposal.
Currently, there are 57 member companies of Product Care(SM). A complete roster of members may be viewed in the Product Care section of http://www.cspa.org/.
The Consumer Specialty Products Association is a non-profit national trade association representing some 220 companies engaged in the manufacture, formulation, distribution and sale of hundreds of familiar consumer products. It is organized into seven divisions: Aerosol Products, Air Care, Antimicrobial Products, Cleaning Products, Pest Management Products, Industrial & Automotive Specialty Chemicals, and Polishes & Floor Maintenance Products.
