Kia Opirus to debut at the Geneva International Motor Show
Kia Motor Corp. will introduce a new luxury model at the Geneva Motor Show (March 6-16, 2003).
Developed under the code name GH for Grand Heritage the new "large-sized super-deluxe sedan" is based on the Hyundai Grandeur XG.
The new super-deluxe sedan boasts the highest possible safety protection, being equipped with an active head rest (an automatic-response device to shield the passenger during a rear collision), technology exclusive to Kia in Korea, a personal IC system (automatically controls all equipment when the passenger enters or disembarks), VDC (prevents the car from slippage when turning corners), BAC (activated when braking in an emergency), e-mobilizer (sets the ignition key in motion by deciphering the inset code). Three versions (2,700cc, 3,000cc and 3,500cc) of the new deluxe vehicle will be introduced.
35,000 cars will be produced per annum.
