MACS PRESENTS PIONEER AWARD
THE MOBILE AIR CONDITIONING SOCIETY (MACS) WORLDWIDE
PRESENTS MOBILE A/C INDUSTRY PIONEER AWARDS
(LANSDALE, PA) -February 7, 2003-The Mobile Air Conditioning Society
(MACS) Worldwide honored 10 mobile A/C industry professionals with the
first MACS presentation of the Mobile A/C industry Pioneer Award during
its annual convention, Reality Check 2003 at the New Orleans Marriott on
Saturday, February 1, 2003. The Pioneer Award was established in 1988 by
the International Mobile Air Conditioning Association (IMACA) to honor
distinguished members of the mobile air conditioning industry. IMACA
ceased operation as a membership trade association in 2001and
subsequently MACS Board of Directors voted on July 13, 2002 that the
recognition of industry pioneers should continue for the benefit of the
industry.
Remarking on the importance of continuing the legacy of the Pioneer
Award, MACS Chairman and CEO and 1996 Pioneer award winner, Butch Smith
explained, "The Pioneer award was initiated by IMACA to provide
recognition for outstanding contributions by professionals in the mobile
A/C industry. MACS was proud to continue the tradition at our 2003
convention by awarding this honor to 10 significant industry leaders who
have for decades distinguished themselves."
Ray Aylesworth, former IMACA chairman discussed the legacy of the
Pioneer award and recognized the new award honorees. 2001 recipients
included: Jack L. Chisenhall, president of Vintage Air, Inc. of San
Antonio, TX , Dale R. Larson, president/CEO UESCO Warehouse Inc. of
Fargo, North Dakota, Gordon Marks Jr., president of Marks Air Inc.,
Tampa, FL., William Perez of Auto Air Parts, San Juan, Puerto Rico and
Richard Watkins, vice president A/C parts, SCS Frigette, Ft. Worth, TX.
2002 recipients included: Bill Caroselli, director of purchasing and
materials of Four Seasons, Lewisville, TX, Randy Gardiner, president of
Red Dot Corp., Seattle, WA, Wayne Herndon president of Cool Air, North
Richland Hills, TX, Bob Lamb, marketing manager of Triple L Inc., Grand
Prairie, TX and Carlos E. Mancin, executive vice president of
F.A.A.C.A., Caracas, Venezuela.
