International Speedway Corporation Chairman William C. France Announces Changes to Company Management Team

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 10 -- International Speedway Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ISCB)
("ISC") Chairman William C. France, 69, who has led the motorsports
entertainment company to unprecedented growth in the industry, announced today
several changes to maximize the Company's talent and strengthen its management
team.  James C. France, 58, who has served as ISC's President and Chief
Operating Officer since 1987, will become CEO.  William C. France, who has
been CEO and Chairman since 1987 and is considered a visionary by many in the
motorsports industry, will continue as Chairman.
    Lesa D. Kennedy, 41, Executive Vice President of the Company, will become
President.  In addition, John R. Saunders, 46, ISC's Senior Vice President of
Operations, will be named Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
All of the proposed management changes, which were arrived at after
consultation with the Board, will take place at the Company's April Board
meeting.
    William C. France commented, "Jim, Lesa, and John have been integral to
the success of this organization and represent a depth of management that has
been, and will continue to be, ISC's primary key to success.  They bring to
their new roles a wealth of Company and motorsports experience, a commitment
to the motorsports industry, proven track records of enhancing all aspects of

    James C. France commented, "Bill's contributions to this sport and to this
Company date back to our father's founding of NASCAR.  As CEO of ISC for the
past 22 years, he has led ISC and the entire motorsports community to
unimaginable heights.  In fiscal 2002, ISC generated revenues in excess of
$550 million and more than 151 million television viewers tuned in to watch
Winston Cup events hosted by ISC facilities.  Bill's leadership has made much
of this growth possible and we look forward to benefiting from his continued
contribution and vision as Chairman of the Company."
    In addition to serving as President and COO, James C. France was elected
to the ISC Board of Directors in 1970 and has served as the Company's
Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, Vice President, and Executive Vice President
before being named the Company's President and Chief Operating Officer in
1987.
    Named Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal's "2001 Female Sports
Executive of the Year," Lesa Kennedy has served as Executive Vice President
since 1996.  Ms. Kennedy joined ISC in 1983 and was named to the company's
Board of Directors in 1984.  She served as the company's Secretary and
Treasurer and was appointed Executive Vice President in 1996.  Ms. Kennedy is
the daughter of Chairman William C. France.
    John Saunders has been Senior Vice President of Operations since 1999.  He
has also served as ISC's Vice President of Administrative Services (1997 to
1999).  From 1983 to 1997, he held the position of President of Watkins Glen
International, an ISC-owned facility.  As President, he led the growth of the
facility through the early 80s and 90s and was instrumental in landing a
Winston Cup date for the road course in 1986.  As Senior Vice President,
Saunders oversaw the integration of Penske Motorsports' facilities in 1999.
    ISC is a leading promoter of motorsports activities in the United States,
currently promoting more than 100 events annually.  The Company owns and/or
operates 12 of the nation's major motorsports facilities, including Daytona
International Speedway in Florida (home of the Daytona 500); Talladega
Superspeedway in Alabama; Michigan International Speedway located outside
Detroit; Richmond International Raceway in Virginia; California Speedway near
Los Angeles; Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas; Phoenix International
Raceway in Arizona; Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida; North Carolina
Speedway in Rockingham; Darlington Raceway in South Carolina; Watkins Glen
International in New York; and Nazareth Speedway in Pennsylvania.
    Other track interests include an indirect 37.5% interest in Raceway
Associates, LLC, which owns and operates Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66
Raceway near Chicago, Illinois.
    The Company also owns and operates MRN Radio, the nation's largest
independent sports radio network; DAYTONA USA, the "Ultimate Motorsports
Attraction" in Daytona Beach, Florida, the official attraction of NASCAR; and
subsidiaries which provide catering services, food and beverage concessions,
and produce and market motorsports-related merchandise under the trade name
"Americrown."
