Montgomery Gets First Win Daytona

 

Daytona Beach, FL (February 8, 2003) - Chase Montgomery got his first taste of victory tonight after leading the ARCA RE/MAX field to the checkered flag during the Advanced Discount Auto Parts 200 at Daytona International Speedway.

 

"This feels awesome," Montgomery said. "I have to say that I am absolutely speechless right now. Taking my team to victory lane was the greatest feeling in the world. Winning my first race at Daytona makes it all the more sweeter."

 

Montgomery and his new teammate, legendary rocker Alice Cooper, announced their new team earlier in the day. The duo will team with Brewco Motorsports for a limited 2003 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. The team's first race will be next Saturday's Koolerz 300.

 

"This gives us a great confidence boost going into our Busch debut next weekend," Montgomery said. "This was also a great victory to win for Alice's first trip to the track with us."

 

Montgomery will begin Busch Series practice on Tuesday.
