Delphi Realigns Staffs to Focus on Stronger Media/Brand Communication and Customer Focus - Hey Guys Here We Are!
TROY, Mich., Feb. 7 -- Delphi Corporation today announced the appointment of several executives to top positions in its global communication and marketing staffs and a corresponding realignment of its branding communication to help integrate the company's public affairs and brand development activities. Corporate Communication Changes William A. Lafontaine is named corporate director, media communication and brand development, reporting to Karen Healy, vice president of corporate affairs and facilities. Lafontaine had been director of marketing and customer development. He will help align Delphi's media and brand development efforts to enhance Delphi's technical and corporate reputation. The company's media relations, advertising, Internet communication, brand development, merchandising and motorsports activities will report to Lafontaine. Steven K. Gaut is named director of communication for Delphi Europe, Middle East and Africa succeeding Frederique LeGreves, who is leaving Delphi for a position with a vehicle manufacturer in Europe. Gaut will lead communication activities for Delphi's operations in the region, including media relations and internal communication. He also will help coordinate government relations with Delphi's country directors in the region. Gaut will report to Volker Barth, president of Delphi Europe, Middle East and Africa. Gaut was previously Delphi's corporate director of media relations. David G. Bodkin is named director of media relations, and also will maintain his current responsibilities as director of communication for Mexico. Bodkin will report to Lafontaine and Healy. Sales & Marketing Organization Changes John Connor is named director, sales & marketing, and will report to Jose Maria Alapont, president of Delphi's international operations and vice president of sales and marketing. Connor will coordinate the development of worldwide sales and marketing strategies in cooperation with Delphi's divisional sales and marketing directors and the customer directors. He will also oversee customer market share and international growth. Connor had been director of North American automotive sales at Delphi Delco Electronics. Jim Heiman is named director, marketing and planning, and will report to Connor. He is responsible for product and service marketing, market research, customer and competitive analysis, business planning, revenue planning, new business development and customer shows and exhibits. Heiman had been senior administrator, sales, marketing and planning at Delphi Headquarters. All moves are effective March 1.
