Sonic Jet Performance's TSG Division Completes Contract to Supply Tempest Mine Protected Vehicles for the British Ministry of Defense
Charleston, S.C., Feb. 6 -- TSG, a subsidiary of Sonic Jet Performance, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SJET) announced today that it has delivered the last "Tempest" Mine Protected multi-purpose vehicle called for by their contract to supply eight such vehicles for use by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense (MOD). The "Tempest", known in the United States as "Cougar", is a versatile, multi-purpose vehicle that can be configured to satisfy a wide variety of mission requirements. The purpose-built monocoque capsule is designed to protect both the driver and crew, and is mated with the latest in American commercial automotive technology to produce the most user-friendly and adaptable vehicle in its class. The stock Cougar and its occupants will survive the explosion of both anti-personnel and anti-tank landmines. The Tempests delivered to the MOD are equipped with optional Self-Forming Fragment (SFF) plates that protect the vehicle against state-of-the-art SFF anti-tank mines. Such mines are deadly to all current NATO tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles. The Tempest and Cougar vehicles are also ballistically protected to 7.62 NATO from all angles, including straight down onto the roof. The COUGAR can be configured to serve as a mine protected and ballistically protected troop transport vehicle, a weapons platform, a law enforcement special response vehicle, an EOD / Range Clearance vehicle, or a VIP Protection vehicle. Logistic and maintenance support is provided at the highest level and the automotive components are readily available (24/7/365) through commercial channels. TSG President Garth Barrett commented, "Landmines pose a real and present danger to our forces. Regrettably, this has recently been underscored by the losses we have sustained in a series of mine blasts in Afghanistan. It is our hope that many lives will be spared by the Tempests purchased by the Ministry of Defense." About Technical Solutions Group, Inc. Technical Solutions Group, Inc.
