AAA Launches New Public Information Web Site

ORLANDO, Fla.--Feb. 6, 2003--AAA, a leading safety advocate of the motoring and traveling public, brings its vast information resources to the forefront by launching a comprehensive public Web site called "AAA Exchange" at www.aaapublicaffairs.com.
"This site puts people just a mouse click away from AAA's expertise on a vast range of safety, transportation, environmental and consumer issues," said Susan Pikrallidas, vice president, AAA Public Affairs.
"Visitors can learn about AAA's public service and policy work, as well as share information, ideas and opinions with us," Pikrallidas said. "Plus, the helpful links and timely information about AAA programs make the site a terrific resource for parents, educators, legislators, safety advocates and others who care about AAA issues."
Best known for its pioneering efforts to improve roads and promote driver and passenger safety, the nearly 46-million member association has influenced many important public policies and programs. In addition to a review of AAA's historical contributions, the site highlights the organization's position on legislative issues, such as transportation infrastructure funding.
The Web site also includes background on AAA's child passenger safety initiative "Seated, Safe and Secure," plus the "Right to Repair" auto consumer issue, and the "Licensed to Learn" driver education program. Additional traffic safety features highlight the AAA School Safety Patrol Program and educational material about impaired driving, distracted driving, pedestrian safety and more.
Pikrallidas said a section called "For the Environment" invites visitors to read about AAA's environmental positions. Other site features provide background on the association and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. Users can also contact AAA and sign up to receive news and updates.
As North America's largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides its members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
