AAA Offers Free Online Ads for TourBook Advertisers
ORLANDO, Fla.--Feb. 4, 2003--AAA is offering free online advertising on http://www.aaa.com to companies that purchase advertising in its popular TourBook(R) guides."AAA members want information about TourBook guide advertisers and we intend to make that information available to members in whatever medium they use to make travel plans," said Gary Sisco, director, AAA Publishing Business Development.
Nearly 38 million AAA members have Internet access and 65 percent of them search for travel information online. AAA members view more than 18,000 lodging detail pages every day on http://www.aaa.com. Currently, AAA has nearly 46 million members in the United States and Canada.
Through this offer, AAA approved lodging advertisers can have the same display ad they place in the TourBook guide repeated in the Online TourBook at no additional charge. In the advertiser's online listing users will see a clickable TourBook icon that opens the ad.
"Advertisers get two highly targeted mediums for the price of one," said Sisco. "It makes sense to offer this to advertisers because members want more information. Everybody wins."
AAA launched its Online TourBook in 2001 to provide more travel information to members. It appears on http://www.aaa.com along with Internet TripTik(R), which the Wall Street Journal named its "Top Choice" for online mapping systems.
AAA proprietary information, including Diamond Rated properties and Approved Auto Repair locations, can be selected from a menu list on Internet TripTik as well. AAA has been publishing the TourBook guides since 1926.
This offer is available to all 2004 TourBook guide edition advertisers with single property, two- or four-color ads that contain a photo. Deadlines vary for each of the 24 TourBook titles in the series.
