Porsche North America sales down 10 pct in January
FRANKFURT, Feb 3, 2003; Reuters reports that German sportscar maker Porsche AG said on Monday its North American unit sales fell 10 percent in January to 1,395 units as consumer confidence fell due to fears of a possible war in Iraq.
The carmaker said it sold 800 of its 911 models - a drop of two percent year-on-year as well as 595 of its smaller Boxster cars, a drop of 18 percent.
The company said fears of a possible war in Iraq had led to a drop in consumer confidence.
The group said it still planned to introduce its new Cayenne sports utility vehicle into the North American market by the middle of March.
