USAR to Visit 22 Tracks on 2003 Schedule
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - United Speed Alliance Racing will bring its Hooters ProCup Series to 22 tracks in nine states and Ontario, Canada during its 30-race schedule in 2003. The Series will begin in seventh full season of competition at its home track in Lakeland, FL at the fast ¾-mile USA International Speedway on Saturday, February 22nd.
For the third consecutive season the Series will run its unique two-division format during the regular season and bring both divisions together for the five-race Championship Series at the end of the season.
The Southern Division of the Series will return to USA International, New Smyrna, Five Flags, Hickory, Ace, Myrtle Beach, Peach State, Southern National Speedways and Concord Motorsport Park. The only new track added to the Southern Division schedule in 2003 is Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville. The historic track will be a good fit for the Series according to Series Director of Operations Tony Cox.
"We are very happy to have Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville on our 2003 schedule," said Cox. "We were fortunate our schedule worked out this year to have a date at the track. The track is a great fit for our brand of racing in the Hooters ProCup Series and we look forward to adding to the history of the track."
The Northern Division will also visit some familiar tracks and just like its southern counterpart one new track will host an event this year.
Jennerstown, Cayuga, Holland, Illiana, KIl-Kare, Salem, Big Daddy's South Boston, Lonesome Pine, Motordrome, New River Valley and Winchester Speedways all return to the schedule with Mansfield Motorsports Speedway in Mansfield, OH added to the 2003 schedule.
"We look forward to bringing the Hooters ProCup Series to the Mid-Ohio region," said Cox. "The track is one of the best short track racing facilities in the country for racing and they have and are continuing to upgrade the facility for this year and we are looking forward to racing there in May."
