Schneider Logistics Appoints Detampel to Direct New Business Initiatives



    GREEN BAY, Wis., Feb. 3 -- Schneider Logistics Inc. today
announced that Michael Detampel has been named director, business development,
and will spearhead new business initiatives across electronics, technology and
chemical industries.  Schneider Logistics currently works with leading
companies in these industry verticals including Thomson Multimedia, Case New
Holland and Andrew Corporation.
    Detampel joined Schneider Logistics in 1993 as a logistics engineer and
has held several roles in engineering, operations, and corporate planning.
Most recently, Detampel served as director of engineering, winning and growing
key accounts and providing supply chain modeling and optimization services for
the company's customers.  In this role, he also provided supply chain
consulting services to customers in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

    Prior to his position as director of engineering, Detampel served as
director of strategic development at Schneider Logistics, where he was
responsible for global alliances and the development of new products and
services.  In this role, Detampel built relationships and alliances with major
Asian companies that led to Schneider Logistics' expansion of services into
the Asian market -- specifically the flow of finished goods and components
from Asia into North America.
    Before joining Schneider Logistics, Detampel worked as a research analyst
with Georgia Institute of Technology's Technology and Policy Analysis Center,
and as an advanced manufacturing engineer with Milwaukee Electric Tool
Corporation.
    Detampel holds a master's degree in industrial engineering and operations
research from Georgia Tech.  He earned a bachelor's degree from Marquette
University in industrial engineering.  Detampel lives in Green Bay, Wis.
