French Car Makers '02 Vehicle Sales Up 1.4% To 5.65 Million

PARIS February 3, 2003; Dow Jones reported that French car makers sold 5.65 million cars, light utility vehicles and trucks throughout the world last year, up 1.4% from a year earlier, French carmakers association Comite des Constructeurs Francais d'Automobiles said Monday. Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen SA saw their combined passenger car sales rise 2.9% to 4.94 million last year, while sales of light utility vehicles fell 8.5% to 654,801, the CCFA said.

Truck sales fell 2.5% to 47,723, the CCFA said.
