Your Used Car Will Do Just Fine, Says National Kidney Foundation of Georgia

ATLANTA, Jan. 31 -- For kidney patients, an ambulance isn't
the only life-saving vehicle. Most of us have seen those rescue shows on TV
where an accident occurs and the ambulance arrives just in time to save
someone's life. Now, take a look out in your driveway. If you see a used
car or boat you've been thinking of trading in or getting rid of, then you,
too, can save a life and maybe even get a tax deduction in the process.
Simply by donating your unwanted vehicle to the National Kidney Foundation
of Georgia.
Donation of your used or hard-to-sell vehicle is easy. Just call
1-800-488-CARS (2277) from anywhere in Georgia. The foundation will sell your
car at auction or recycle it for parts, using the proceeds to help send
children with kidney disease and kidney, heart of liver transplants to camp.
It could also help create awareness about kidney disease, and it can help fund
research into finding a cure for kidney disease. In fact, more than 80 cents
of every dollar raised through the Kidney Cars program helps support research,
patient services, organ donation and public education in Georgia.
Remember, donation of your used vehicle is easy. Just call 1-800-488-CARS
(2277) from anywhere in Georgia. The foundation will mail you the appropriate
paperwork and when that is taken care of, the foundation will arrange for a
free vehicle pick up. For tax purposes, donors receive an acknowledgement
letter that states the year, make and vehicle identification number of the
donated vehicle. Consult you tax advisor for tax deduction information.
The National Kidney Foundation of Georgia is dedicated to preventing
kidney and urinary tract disease, improving the health and well being of
individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increasing the
availability of all organs for transplantation. Across Georgia, the
foundation brings hope to more than one million people affected by kidney
disease.
