Kruse International 1st Annual Rod & Custom auction

January 29, 2003

Auburn, IN-Kruse International, the world's largest collector car auction company, has announced plans for the 1st Annual Rod and Custom Auction. The event, scheduled for June 21, 2003, will be held at Kruse's Auburn, IN auction complex.

"What I've always loved about custom cars and hot rods is that they have their own individual personalities. You can take a '57 Chevy and alter it in a way that it becomes an entirely different vehicle."

"Or you can buy a car that originated as a fairly sedate family car in the 1960s, put a different engine in it, and all of a sudden you have a hot rod. You have to applaud the creativity and imagination that go into these cars," said Dean Kruse, founder and CEO of Kruse International.

The addition of the Rod and Custom Auction to Kruse International's schedule is a result of Kruse's plan to hold more auctions at the Auburn site.

"We have a $25 million facility here and we only use it for two sales. I'm business savvy enough to know that it just doesn't seem like a good use of resources. And I'm looking forward to the challenge and excitement that the new event will provide. I want to remind people why Kruse International is the world's largest collector car auction company," Kruse said.

The event is expected to feature over 400 cars.
