Motion Industries Announces New Industrial Automation Position
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Jan. 30, 2003--Motion Industries, the world's largest distributor of bearings, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic replacement parts, and hose products has named Jim Williams corporate director, Industrial Automation, according to Ralph Buntyn, Motion Industries' senior vice president marketing."Emerging technologies and the automation of manufacturing processes in our present industrial environment provides us with an outstanding growth opportunity," said Buntyn. "We are excited to have Jim in this role."
In this new position, Williams will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Motion Industries' industrial automation efforts while providing support for the national industrial automation program. He began his career with Motion Industries in 1985 as a regional fluid power specialist. He has also held positions of branch manager, regional manager and group automation manager. Williams will relocate from Columbia, S.C., to Birmingham.
Williams is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
