Delphi Signs Services and Technology Agreement with HP; HP Managed Services, Enterprise Servers and Storage Support Delphi's Global SAP Solutions

    PALO ALTO, Calif.--Jan. 30, 2003--The world's largest automotive supplier, Delphi Corporation , has signed a services and technology agreement with HP . Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, HP will support Delphi's SAP(R) solutions for North America and Singapore from an HP data center in Toronto, Canada.
    Twenty-five HP-UX and 35 industry-standard HP ProLiant servers running Windows(R) NT supported by HP storage solutions and backed up by HP's enterprise disaster recovery solution will run SAP.com(R) solutions and other business applications.

    As one of SAP's global technology partners, HP was able to leverage its expertise and its strong alliance with SAP to successfully consolidate Delphi's Eastern and Western European SAP solutions last year. Today's agreement will enable Delphi's entire global operations to run SAP solutions from HP's data centers. By consolidating all of Delphi's SAP business applications on HP hardware, supported by HP Services, the companies are working together to increase the return on IT in today's challenging environment.
    In addition to providing industry-leading SAP solution management services, HP will provide consulting and integration; SAP technical support; Microsoft(R) NT support services; as well as a mission-critical disaster recovery solution including both hardware and data center redundancy. This combination of HP services and technology is designed to give Delphi a low-risk solution for enterprise resource planning and for managing its growing databases.
    HP OpenView Storage Area Manager (SAM) software leads the industry in heterogeneous IT management and allows Delphi to optimize the robust features of an HP StorageWorks XP storage array and control 80 terabytes of raw storage. Integrated components of the HP OpenView SAM safeguard data by enabling a mirror site to back up and store data 11 kilometers away from Delphi's data center.
