AxleTech International and UAW Reach Contract Agreement For Oshkosh, Wisconsin Manufacturing Operation

TROY, Mich., Jan. 30 -- AxleTech International announces
today that the contract for the Oshkosh, Wisc. facility has been ratified by
members of local UAW 291 on January 29, 2003. The Oshkosh operation was
recently acquired by Wynnchurch Capital from ArvinMeritor as part of the
purchase of their off-highway and specialty vehicle axle business on
December 30, 2002. AxleTech International was established by Wynnchurch to
manage this business. The contract ratification occurred two weeks after UAW
members returned to work under the new ownership structure.
"We are pleased that the membership ratified this offer," said Mary
Petrovich, CEO of AxleTech International.
"We worked very hard with the UAW to balance the needs of our customers,
employees, the community, and investors to achieve this agreement. With the
UAW as our partner, this ratification positions AxleTech to address major
competitiveness issues so that we may better serve our customers and thereby
ensure a future for our employees and their families in Oshkosh. We believe
this is an agreement that provides fair terms and conditions consistent with
other competitive UAW operations," stated Petrovich. "We now look forward to
the challenge of rebuilding the revenue and employment base in Oshkosh."
