Copart Opens Fifth Location in Southern California

FAIRFIELD, Calif.--Jan. 29, 2003--Copart, Inc. today announced that it has opened its fifth facility in Southern California in the community of Rancho Cucamonga. With the addition of this 39-acre greenfield location Copart now has 101 locations in 40 states.
"The new Rancho Cucamonga location is in the southeastern section of the city, just east of Interstate 15," said Willis J. Johnson, Copart's Chief Executive Officer. "Nearly two years ago we began searching for an additional location in the Los Angeles area to handle our growth in the region. This new site gives us significant additional capacity and will allow us to better serve our suppliers in the Inland Empire. We now have five sites in Southern California including Los Angeles, Van Nuys, San Bernardino, San Diego and Rancho Cucamonga."
Since August 2002, Copart has added seven locations including two MAG sites in West Mifflin, PA and Richmond, VA and five Copart salvage sites in Reno, NV; Springfield, MO; Corpus Christi, TX; Ft. Pierce, FL and Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
The Company also announced that it recently relocated its corporate headquarters to Fairfield, California. The new address is 4665 Business Center Drive, Fairfield, CA 94534. The new main telephone number is (707) 639-5000.
Copart, founded in 1982, provides vehicle suppliers, primarily insurance companies, with a full range of services to process and sell salvage vehicles through auctions, principally to licensed vehicle dismantlers, rebuilders, repair licensees and used vehicle dealers. Salvage vehicles are either damaged vehicles deemed a total loss for insurance or business purposes or are recovered stolen vehicles for which an insurance settlement with the vehicle owner has already been made. The Company operates 101 facilities in 40 states. It also provides services in other locations through its national network of independent salvage vehicle processors.
