Mohit Uberoi Assumes Leadership Role at MEGTEC Systems
DEPERE, Wis.--Jan. 28, 2003--MEGTEC Systems, a unit of Sequa Corporation (NYSE; SQAA), has named Mohit Uberoi to the newly created post of executive vice president, operations. The president and general manager of MEGTEC Systems, Alan Fiers, 63, has decided to retire at the end of May, and Uberoi will succeed him as president and general manager in June 2003.In announcing the management transition at MEGTEC, John Quicke, president and chief operating officer of parent Sequa Corporation, said, "We are fortunate throughout our company to have the kind of talented, experienced managers typified by Mohit Uberoi and Alan Fiers. Uberoi, 37, joined Sequa in 1997 as director of emission control products for the newly created MEGTEC Systems unit. MEGTEC was formed through the combination of Sequa's MEG business unit with the TEC Systems division of W.R. Grace & Co, which was acquired in August 1997. An engineer by training, Uberoi began his career at W.R. Grace in 1990 after receiving a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Arizona. He received his undergraduate degree (BS, 1986) from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. At W.R. Grace, Uberoi advanced through positions in engineering and corporate research to become manager of emission control products at the time of TEC Systems acquisition. At MEGTEC, he advanced in 1999 to vice president and worldwide business manager for industrial and environmental products, and in 2002 he was named vice president, global business unit operations.
Headquartered in DePere, Wisconsin, MEGTEC Systems serves the global graphic arts market and other industrial end users with air flotation dryers for printing and coating processes; air emission control systems; and auxiliary equipment for web offset printing.
