Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Announces Executive Management Promotions
TULSA, Okla., Jan. 27 -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , today announced promotions of three members of its executive management team; Rich Halbrook, Vicki Vaniman and Bob DuPont. Rich Halbrook has been promoted to DTG executive vice president of administration. His responsibilities include overseeing the human resources, training and development, customer service, properties and concessions and purchasing departments of the company. Halbrook joined Dollar Rent A Car in 1995 as vice president of human resources and previous to that, was with Dollar's affiliate company at the time, Pentastar Services, Inc. In total, Halbrook has more than 23 years of human resources experience, 19 of which are focused in the car and truck rental industry. He holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Arkansas and a MS degree in industrial psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology, and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management. In addition, Halbrook serves on the board of advisors for the Tulsa Metro Chamber, as well as serves on the board of Tulsa Zoo Friends. Vicki Vaniman has been promoted to DTG executive vice president and general counsel. Vaniman joined Dollar Rent A Car in 1994 as vice president and general counsel and previous to that, was also with Dollar's affiliate company at the time, Pentastar Services, Inc. She has more than 20 years of legal expertise, 11 of which are focused in the car rental industry. Previous to joining the car rental industry, Vaniman practiced law at Tulsa, Okla.- based law firm, Jones, Givens, Gotcher and Bogan, P.C. Vaniman holds a bachelor of science degree in business from Oklahoma State University, a juris doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma and participated in the prestigious Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. In addition, she serves on the board for non-profit organizations, Domestic Violence Intervention Services and Oklahoma Society to Prevent Blindness. Bob DuPont has been promoted to DTG vice president of reservations. His responsibilities include overseeing all DTG reservation and licensee revenue management services for both of the company's brands, Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental. Dupont joined Thrifty Car Rental in 1992 as director of yield management and global distribution system (GDS) marketing, before being promoted to staff vice president of reservations in 1994. Prior to joining Thrifty, DuPont was vice president of reservations for National Rent A Car and held a 19-year tenure with the company in various positions within the operations and reservations areas. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in statistics from the University of Minnesota. In addition, he serves on the editorial advisory board of Customer Interface magazine.
