Cummins Inc. Appoints Jill Cook Vice President - Human Resources

    COLUMBUS, Ind.--Jan. 24, 2003--Cummins Inc. today announced the appointment of Jill Cook as Vice President - Human Resources.
    Cook will lead the development and implementation of strategic Human Resource initiatives across all business units. She will also lead Corporate Employee and Labor Relations, Human Resources Functional Excellence and the Corporate and Line Human Resources organizations.
    "Jill has done an outstanding job guiding Human Resources, an organization that is critical to the success of this Company," said Tim Solso, Cummins Chairman and CEO. "I know we can count on her to continue to drive improvement in the many facets of Human Resources that are core to our business strategy as we go forward."
    Cook, 39, began her career with Cummins in 1988. She has held various positions of increasing responsibility in all facets of Human Resources including labor relations, line human resources at several Cummins manufacturing plants and strategic corporate roles. She currently serves as Executive Director- Human Resources for the Company.
    "Jill's experience in all aspects of human resources make her uniquely qualified to lead our global human resource efforts," said Jean Blackwell, Cummins Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Staff. " We are excited to have her assume the additional responsibilities for Cummins."
    Prior to joining Cummins, she worked for General Motors as a Production Manager and Labor Relations representative. Jill received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Leadership from Purdue University in 1986.
