Johnson Controls Declares Cash Dividend

    MILWAUKEE, Jan. 22 The Directors of Johnson Controls, Inc.
(JCI) today authorized a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.36 per common
share. The dividend is payable March 31, 2003 to shareholders of record March
14, 2003.
    Johnson Controls has paid consecutive dividends since 1887.
