> presentation by Chuck Hallum, of Hallum Racing. The presentation topic is
> "Dynamic Traction Characteristics of Tires".  Chuck is a racecar
> engineering consultant and retired aerospace engineer. He has experience
> working with NHRA, NASCAR, and CART teams. 
> Chuck talked to 4 F1 teams in 2001 and 2002. McLaren, Williams, Jaguar and
> Renault are spending Millions analyzing tyres similar to what Chuck will
> be discussing
> Unlike many in race car industry, he has developed a tire model that
> includes the effects of heating.  The Hallum Tire Model defines slip
> friction heat generation and how it affects tire performance. In addition
> to the many papers he has written and presented on this subject, Chuck is
> an active lecturer as part of the SAE Lectureship Program and is a mentor
> in the Southern California SAE Section.
