Market Scan Information Systems, the leading provider of financing software solutions for automotive dealers, today announced the appointment of David Bartels as vice president, sales.
Bartels will be responsible for the national sales operations of the company including field and inside sales, and will work in tandem with customer support to drive renewals, deliver new solutions within current dealerships, and grow the company's market share.
"David has been a huge factor in Market Scan's success since he joined the company in 1999 to help drive the development of our Retail Finance System," said Ron Means, CEO. "He developed an in-depth knowledge of our customers and the needs of dealerships through his work in both sales and as head of our customer support department.
"This knowledge combined with his strong relationships with dealers and a reputation for excellence throughout the industry will be highly instrumental in taking Market Scan's solutions to the next level of growth.
Among his first priorities, Bartels announced plans to expand the sales team by 50% both in the field and through the addition of an inside sales team based in the company's Westlake Village headquarters.

Bartels joined Market Scan in 1999 to assist in the development of the Retail Finance System. He was named vice president of the Western Region in 2000 where he spearheaded growth in the four regions west of the Mississippi. In 2001 he was tapped to serve as vice president of customer support where he drove the company's customer-centric approach to development, sales, and service.
Prior to joining Market Scan, Bartels served as vice president, sales and marketing and was on the board of directors for Diamond Technology Inc., developers of The Secondary Finance Wizard computer program.
A nationally renowned specialist in sales training and technology solutions, Bartels is sought after as an author and speaker throughout the automotive industry. He has been the featured speaker at many Automotive Dealer 20 Group meetings.
