Continental Technologies:

Electronic Stability Program: This electronic stability control technology significantly improves vehicle stability in all three primary areas of vehicle performance: accelerating, cornering and braking. Using electrical sensors strategically placed throughout the vehicle, the system analyzes steering wheel activity, wheel speeds, acceleration and the vehicle's rotation about its vertical axis and continually analyzes this data to determine whether the actual course of the vehicle corresponds to the desired direction. By braking individual wheels and reducing engine torque, it automatically corrects understeer and oversteer, and helps keep vehicles on the road.

Anti-lock Brake System: Prevents wheels from locking up when they are fully applied, giving drivers extra control in hard stopping situations. Contributes to safer driving on wet and slippery roads or during a panic stop, when the vehicle may lose traction, causing it to skid out of control.

Electronic Air Suspension: Eases the conflicts that exist between optimal riding comfort and agile handling. It adjusts the damping force on every wheel variably, depending on the load and driving situation, and also automatically adjusts the height.

Traction Control System: Prevents wheels from spinning during acceleration and braking, improving vehicle handling and performance. When sensors detect that a wheel is beginning to slip, the system brakes the spinning wheel and throttles engine output until the wheels regain their grip.

Integrated Starter Alternator Damper System: Replaces the conventional starter, generator and flywheel (damper) with one electronically controlled unit providing instant starts and high-efficiency 42-volt electrical power. The ISAD will be able to convert braking energy into electricity, a process known as regenerative braking. Also, ISAD's 42-volt electrical system will be used to operate such systems as power steering, eliminating the traditional belt system and thereby saving energy, weight and components.

Tires: Because tires are the only contact vehicles have with the road, tire performance directly relates how consumers perceive the vehicle and to overall vehicle safety. Continental tires are manufactured to the highest safety standards and offer leading edge technology for a variety of applications, from passenger cars and minivans to sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks.
