Hyundai Sets All-Time Sales Record in December and 2002

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 3, 2003; Hyundai Motor America today announced record sales of 25,444 vehicles for the month of December up 4.2 percent over the previous year. Total sales for 2002 set a new all- time annual sales record for Hyundai in the U.S. - 375,119 -- up 8.3 percent over 2001.

"Hyundai's record sales for the year were driven by outstanding sales of the Elantra, Santa Fe, Sonata and Tiburon with each model setting all-time sales records for the U.S.," said Hyundai's Vice President of Sales, Robert Cosmai. "Hyundai has experienced an increase in sales each year for the past four years. Hyundai's growth is consistent across the product line up as shown by four of the six models setting all-time annual sales records in 2002," he added.
