Two Time Defending Champion Will Nonnamaker Returns To Defend STII Title

2002 Grand-Am Cup ST II Team Champion HRPworld.com and Driver Champion Will Nonnamaker will be returning to the class to defend their titles. In the drivers seat of the #43 King Motorsports Acura Integra LS will be Will Nonnamaker in his quest for a third straight ST II Driver Title.

In 2001, Will won six races and finished on the podium at all ten races. Then in 2002, he won four races en route to defending his title. This amazing success is due to the incredible consistency of the team's excellent car prep and pit stops. That consistency has led the HRPworld.com' Acura campaign to the remarkable streak of twenty straight races with a podium.

"Our plan is to come back in 2003 and fight for every race like we have every year," commented Nonnamaker, who celebrates his birthday today. "2002 is over and now the scoreboard is 0-0. Will's teammate and brother Wayne will not be returning to the Acura effort in 2003. The brother combination have been teamed together for four years resulting in three Championships, two of which they shared. For 2003 the 24 year old will instead be driving in the Planet Earth Motorsports - Porsche in GS II with his father.

"Who will be Will's teammate? That is a good question," agreed Mike Thomas, 2001 ST II Crew Chief of the year. "Will and Wayne have made a great driver combination. I am confident in what direction we are headed. But if you think I am going to say who it is, well, you will have to just wait until the season opener at Daytona to see."
