Chevy Adds Dreyer & Reinbold IRL Team

    DETROIT, Dec. 20, 2002 - Chevrolet's roster of development teams for
next season's Indy Racing League competition is now complete with the
announcement today that Dreyer & Reinbold Racing of Indianapolis will use
the all-new Chevy Indy V8 in 2003.

    "We are very pleased to add Dreyer & Reinbold Racing to Chevrolet's
strong lineup of affiliated teams," said Joe Negri, GM Racing program
manager. "We are delighted to renew our association with co-owners Robbie
Buhl and Dennis Reinbold. Robbie scored both of his IRL victories and won
the Indy Lights championship with GM engines, so we are well aware of his
ability and his drive to win. We are gratified that this formidable team
chose Chevrolet engines, and we welcome them back to the GM family."

    Buhl, 39, drove GM's first-generation Indy car engine to victories
in Orlando, Fla., in January 2000 and in Loudon, N.H. in August 1997. He
won the 1992 Indy Lights championship with GM power, and set a series
record with 27 top-three finishes in 50 races. As the national spokesperson
for Racing For Kids, Buhl has visited more than 13,000 children in
hospitals during his racing career.

need to win races and truly vie for the championship," said Buhl, who also
owns a Chevrolet dealership. "We appreciate the confidence that Chevy has
placed in us as a development team, and look forward to sharing data from
our testing experiences."

to Chevrolet's IRL program with sponsorship from high-profile consumer

motorsports marketing manager. "Both Robbie and Dennis operate successful
dealerships, so they have a deep understanding of the automotive business
and the crucial role that motorsports plays in today's market. We look

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's preparations for 2003, returning for our fifth

    The team will use Dallara chassis powered by the 2003 version
of Chevrolet's championship-winning Chevy Indy V8, the second new motor
designed and developed in-house by GM Racing in two years. The 2003 Chevy
Indy V8 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, and employs advanced
technology to produce 675 horsepower at the IRL-mandated 10,300 rpm rev
limit. Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will make its competition debut with
Chevrolet power at the season-opening race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on
March 2, 2003.
