KIA MOTORS AMERICA KIA KCD-1 'SLICE' CONCEPT VEHICLE

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 18, 2002; To be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit early next year, the KCD-1 Slice concept vehicle from Kia is an alternative to clumsy, fuel-thirsty sport utility vehicles. With flexible seating for six adults, the Slice provides all the versatility of a SUV, but its V-6 powertrain and sport-tuned suspension give it a fun-to-drive personality that no SUV can match. Based on a car platform, the Slice's long wheelbase and wheels-at-the-corners stance give it an aggressive feel, while its airy cockpit groups controls in easy-to- access quadrants to limit driver distraction.
