DoCoMo, Nissan form liaison venue to promote telematics

TOKYO December 6, 2002; Japan Today reported that NTT DoCoMo Inc and Nissan Motor Co said Thursday they have set up a liaison conference to expedite commercialization of automobile telematics equipment for sending and receiving information useful to drivers on a real-time basis.

The telematics technology combines automobiles with such telecommunications and information equipment as car navigation systems and mobile phones. (Kyodo News)
