CCC Shows Industry Support With Donations to I-CAR Education Foundation and SCRS Camp Mak-A-Dream Fund

DALLAS--Dec. 5, 2002--This week at the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE), CCC Information Services Inc. presented $5,000 donations each to the I-CAR Education Foundation and the Society of Collision Repairer Specialists Camp Mak-A-Dream fund.
The donations made by CCC, a leading supplier of information and technology solutions for the automotive-claims and collision-repair industries, support each organization's respective causes: I-CAR Education Foundation's mission to provide programs and services to attract entry-level candidates and assist in preparing them for careers in the collision industry and SCRS's fundraising effort to sponsor a new medical center at Camp Mak-A-Dream, the retreat for children with cancer.
"As an active participant in the automotive claims industry, we know that one of the biggest challenges our repair facility customers face is finding, training, and retaining talented technicians," said Mary Jo Prigge, CCC's president of sales and service. "Through industry support, the I-CAR Education Foundation can continue to make progress on addressing this salient issue."
CCC has supported the I-CAR Education Foundation's mission via donations for more than ten years and today is recognized as a Foundation Partner. Several CCC employees are also active in the organization, including Jim Dickens, CCC's senior vice president of product management and marketing, who was recently named to the board of trustees, and Larry Costin, who in 2000 was named Lifetime Trustee Emeritus in recognition of his years of active involvement and leadership with the Foundation.
"Both Mr. Costin and Mr. Dickens provide invaluable support and guidance to the Board of Trustees," said Ron Ray, Executive Director of the I-CAR Education Foundation. "CCC's continued support since the Foundation's formation as a 501 (c)(3) in 1991 has set an example that has helped build our donor base to where it is today."
Last year, SCRS pledged to raise $100,000 to help fund the $500,000 goal set by the National Auto Body Council (NABC). If the NABC is successful, a matching grant will be made by the M.J. Murdock charitable trust to build an onsite medical center at Camp Mak-A-Dream, a Montana-based retreat for children with cancer that combines the fun of summer camp with health care at no cost to participants. CCC's $5,000 donation joins an outpouring of support from companies and organizations in the collision industry.
"CCC is proud to make this donation to SCRS, which has been instrumental in rallying our industry together behind this cause," Prigge added. "It has been inspiring to see our industry pull together to help make an impact for the children at Camp Mak-A-Dream, and we are very proud to be part of that effort."
"It's not surprising to see CCC step up to the plate," said Dan Risley, Executive Director of SCRS. "They have always and continue to be an organization that gives from the heart. We appreciate their help and more importantly, so do the children at Camp Mak-a-Dream."
These donations are part of CCC's Character of Caring, a program that supports active participation in the automotive claims industry as well as involvement in charitable organizations and local communities where CCC offices are located. At NACE's Industry Night of Achievement dinner, CCC was recognized for its support of the industry and awarded with an NABC Collision Industry Pride Award.
