BMW Group Reports Phenomenal Month
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Dec. 3 -- The BMW Group (BMW and MINI brands combined) recorded its third best month ever, with November sales of 23,579 vehicles, an increase of 30.2 percent over the same month last year. (Record U.S. sales of 23,994 vehicles were recorded in April of this year followed by sales of 23,624 vehicles in May.) The company also recorded impressive sales gains for the first eleven months of 2002, reporting 230,370 vehicles, an 18.3 percent increase over the 194,713 reported in the same period a year ago.BMW Brand
BMW of North America, LLC reported year-to-date sales of 209,058 automobiles and Sports Activity Vehicles, up 7.4 percent over the 194,713 vehicles sold in the same period last year. The company also reported November sales of 20,873, up 15.3 percent over the 18,107 in the same month in 2001.
BMW Automobile Sales
BMW reported sales of 170,341 compared to the 158,391 cars sold through the first eleven months of 2001, an increase of 7.5 percent. The company also reported November automobile sales of 16,712, up 18.4 percent from the 14,114 cars sold in the same month a year ago.
Sales of BMW's new 7 Series sedan remain strong as the company reported sales of 1,882 in November, up 154.3 percent from the same month a year ago. Year-to-date sales of the new 7 Series are 20,230, up 51.5 percent over the 13,357 automobiles sold in the first eleven months of 2001.
BMW Sports Activity Vehicle Sales
Year-to-date, sales of BMW's X5 Sports Activity Vehicles were up 6.6 percent, to 38,717 vehicles compared to the 36,322 reported last year. The company also reported November sales of 4,161 BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicles, up 4.2 percent over the 3,993 vehicles reported last year.
BMW Certified Pre-owned Vehicles Sales
Sales of BMW CPO vehicles continued to be strong as the company reported 5,243 vehicles in November, an increase of 46.4 percent above the 3,582 vehicles sold last year. Year-to-date, CPO sales were up 54.3 percent to 55,318 compared to the first eleven months of 2001.

MINI Automobiles
The company reported sales of 1,312 MINI Coopers and 1,394 MINI Cooper S' during the month of November for a total of 2,706 cars sold. Year-to-date, the company reported sales of 12,200 MINI Coopers and 9,112 MINI Cooper S' for combined sales of 21,312. The MINI brand has been on sale in the U.S. since March 22.
