Warrantybynet to Continue MADD Donations in 2003
BRICK, N.J.--Dec. 3, 2002--The corporate officers at Warrantybynet have never lost anyone to drunken driving, but it's a social scourge they're working to end anyway. For three years and counting, Warrantybynet http://www.warrantybynet.com, a leading online provider of direct-to-the-consumer extended automobile warranties for 50 different brands of new and pre-owned vehicles, has donated a share of its profits to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), in the hope that their commitment to the cause will help eradicate a behavior that caused more than 16,000 deaths and 500,000 injuries in 2001.
"Social responsibility should not fall solely on the shoulders of the public, but should be shared by the corporate world as well," said Evan Gartenberg, Director of Business Development at Warrantybynet. "If we all work together, we just might curb drunken driving and its horrible consequences."
Warrantybynet is one of 10 corporate sponsors who donate profits to or underwrite programs for MADD; in fact, nearly 20 percent of MADD revenues are corporate donations. MADD's website, in turn, tributes corporations for "taking an active role in the fight against drunken driving by incorporating safety messages to employees, customers and business associates."
"It is our intent," said Gartenberg, "to expand the scope of our support for MADD in the future."
