Top ranked vehicles in J.D. Power dependability study

Detroit, November 22, 2002 The AP listed the top-ranked vehicles in the J.D. Power and Associates 2002 vehicle dependability study. The study measures problems per 100 vehicles after four or five years of ownership. This year's study looked at 1998 model year vehicles.

CARS Compact car: Honda Civic, Mercury Tracer, Toyota Corolla.

Entry Midsize Car: Chrysler Cirrus, Nissan Altima, Plymouth Breeze.

Premium Midsize Car: Oldsmobile Regency, Honda Accord, Toyota Avalon.

Full-size car: Mercury Grand Marquis, Ford Crown Victoria, Buick LeSabre.

Entry Luxury car: Lexus ES 300, Infiniti I30, Acura TL.

Mid Luxury car: Lexus GS 300/400, Acura RL, Lincoln Continental.

Premium Luxury car: Lexus LS 400, Infiniti Q45, Lexus SC 300/400.

Sporty Car: Honda Prelude, Acura Integra, Ford Mustang.
