Simmetrix Inc. Releases Simulation Modeling Suite 4.1

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y.--Nov. 20, 2002--Simmetrix Inc., the leading provider of component software for simulation-based design, today announced the release of version 4.1 of the Simulation Modeling Suite.
The Simulation Modeling Suite provides a comprehensive set of component software tools to enable CAD and CAE software vendors to bridge the Design/Simulation gap. Based on direct access to CAD design data with automatic creation of simulation data, Simulation Modeling Suite 4.1 enables the integration of simulation applications as an integral part of the product development and design process.
"The Simulation Modeling Suite from Simmetrix is a key component to our success in bringing CFD analysis to the mechanical and product development engineers," said Ed Williams, President/CEO of Blue Ridge Numerics. "Enabled by the direct geometry access and automatic meshing from Simmetrix, CFdesign makes it affordable and practical to visualize, understand and optimize the effects of fluid flow and heat transfer on product performance."
"The design of MEMS devices requires analysis of a broad range of geometric configurations using a variety of numerical techniques that span multiple physics domains," said Stephen Breit, Vice President of Product Development at Coventor. "The Simulation Modeling Suite from Simmetrix allows us to automate mesh generation for CoventorWare's analysis tools, and enables our users to focus on analyzing the critical physics of their MEMSdesigns."
"With the meshing technology provided by Simmetrix we were able to meet the demanding requirements related to meshing solids for multi-physics analysis with minimal investment in time and resources," said Pedro Marcel, President of PVM Corporation. "We were impressed by both the technology and support we received from Simmetrix."
"We have evaluated the Simulation Modeling Suite and are quite impressed," said Karlheinz Peters, Vice President of Software Operations at CFDRC. "The broad set of simulation modeling tools provides a comprehensive and flexible basis for building CAE applications tightly integrated with CAD."
The following highlights the comprehensive list of enhanced capabilities offered by Simulation Modeling Suite 4.1.

-- GeomSim product line introduced as common gateway for direct geometry access for CAD systems (CATIA V4, I-DEAS, Pro/Engineer) and modeling kernels (ACIS, Parasolid).
-- GeomSim module released to provide SAT file access & interrogation for non-ACIS licensees.
-- GeomSim module released to provide X_T file access & interrogation for non-Parasolid licensees.
-- ModelSim product line introduced to provide geometry based definition and management of analysis attributes (loads, boundary conditions, materials,...).
-- MeshSim Core enhanced to provide improved generation of curved meshes, and improved surface and volume mesh quality.
-- MeshSim Advanced expanded to provide extrusion meshing and orthogonal meshing capabilities.
-- MeshSim Advanced enhanced to provide improved creation of blend meshes, improved boundary layer meshing and improved performance.
-- MeshSim Adapt enhanced to provide both adaptive mesh refinement and adaptive mesh coarsening based on target element sizing, improved snapping of new mesh vertices to geometry and improved performance.

"Version 4.1 of the Simulation Modeling Suite provides unprecedented functionality to enable simulation modeling in the design process," said Joe Walsh, Vice President for Business Development at Simmetrix. "The improved architecture and expanded support for direct geometry access and simulation problem definition positions this release of the Simulation Modeling Suite as an excellent foundation for our customers and partners to successfully cross the CAD/CAE chasm."
