Mitchell Launches New, Enhanced Corporate Web Site; What Took So Long?

    SAN DIEGO--Nov. 20, 2002--Mitchell International Inc. today launched a redesigned corporate Web site with a new high-tech look, simpler navigation and expanded content that makes it even easier for visitors to find information about the company and its products and services.
    The site is located at www.mitchell.com.
    "The new site better reflects Mitchell's technology solutions emphasis," said Tim Hurley, Mitchell's senior director of program management. "We are the leading provider of data, software and eBusiness solutions for the insurance and collision repair industries. When you arrive at our new site, that message is very clear design-wise, graphically and in terms of content. This site has more content than ever before which reflects our growth into new technologies, particularly eBusiness claims solutions."
    In designing the new mitchell.com site, a major goal was to make the site's navigation extremely easy and intuitive, Hurley said. "We have added many new elements, such as secondary navigation bars and more paths into the site. We also more clearly delineated our products by segment and solution groups -- collision repair, insurance and medical claims -- so users can more quickly be presented with content which is specific to their needs."
    Other changes implemented to improve useability include new, more prominent links to Mitchell's Global and National Auto Glass Specifications (NAGS) divisions along with new product categorizations. Products are now categorized alphabetically and by solution groups (such as collision repair, claims management, imaging and estimating).
    "We provided our visitors a variety of ways to navigate through the site," said Mark Peake, Mitchell's project manager for the site. "For instance, from the home page there are several different entry points leading to Mitchell's product and solution offerings. Once inside, clearly marked secondary navigation bars, index pages and graphic elements make moving around the site extremely easy."
    As before, there are links to Mitchell's online product support, career opportunities, company history and to recent and archived press releases. And for those interested in purchasing online, the Mitchell Store makes available products and online specials. There's even a flash timeline that highlights milestones in Mitchell's distinguished 56-year history.
    "Throughout the enhancement process, our goal was to deliver a site that reinforces to our customers that partnering with Mitchell is the right business choice," said Peake.
