EXCITING NEW TWIN 25'S RACE FORMAT COMING TO IRWINDALE IN APRIL - USAC's FINEST MIDGET DRIVERS WILL COMPETE FOR $50,000 BONUS TO WIN BOTH 25-LAP FEATURES AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

Irwindale, Calif. - - The spectacular new "Twin 25's" racing format that resulted in the largest pay-off ever for a USAC Midget race this past September is coming to Irwindale Speedway on April 26,2003.

It's called the Ford Irwindale Twin 25's, and features a $50,000 bonus prize for a driver who wins both 25-lap feature races.  What makes to out-of-this-world racing action is the fact that the starting order for the second feature is the inverse order of the first feature's finish, with the winner starting in last position.

To collect the $50,000 bonus prize, the winning driver of the first feature will have to pass a minimum of 23 cars in just 25 laps!

Can it be done? Just ask the open wheel fans in Indianapolis," said Steve Lewis, of Premier Racing Entertainment (PRE) in Laguna Beach, California, organizers of the Irwindale Twin 25's.  They'll never forget the night in September of this year, at IRP, when Dave Steele passed the entire field in the second 25-lap feature to collect the $50,000 bonus prize at the inaugural Indianapolis Twin 25's."

"Auto racing doesn't get any more exciting than this, and we're very excited to bring a Twin 25's event to southern California, at the beautiful Irwindale Speedway," said Lewis.  We plan to make the Irwindale Twin 25's another great southern California tradition."

The Irwindale Twin 25's will be held on the Saturday night before the NASCAR Winston Cup race at California Speedway.  The race will be shown on Speed Channel on a tape-delay basis.

Lewis explained there will be two Twin 25's events in 2003 - Irwindale and a repeat performance at Indianapolis.  The first Twin 25's race at Indianapolis Raceway Park attracted 9,500 people.  The Indianapolis Twin 25's will be held on September 26, 2003, the Friday night before the Formula One series competes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.

"We expect to fill the Irwindale grandstands, and that's why we'll be offering a reserved seating program,"  explained Lewis.
