2002 DELMIA Japan User Conference; Companies Learn How to Become More Competitive with Digital Manufacturing Solutions in Product Lifecycle Management

    TOKYO, Japan & TROY, Mich.--Nov. 19, 2002--DELMIA Corp., a Dassault Systemes (DS) Company , reports that the 2002 DELMIA Japan User Conference (DJUC), held on November 6th and 7th at the Westin hotel Tokyo in Japan, was well attended with over 600 participants. DJUC is the largest user conference in the digital manufacturing industry in the Asia Pacific region. DJUC 2002 offered participants the latest information on DELMIA's digital manufacturing solutions, technologies, and market strategies, as well as best practices by Japanese and overseas DELMIA user companies. Manufacturing Companies recognize that digital manufacturing solutions are becoming "the key factor" in Product Lifecycle Management for the manufacturing industry to have competitive advantages.
    The first day conference program, "Digital Manufacturing Forum" had eight sessions featuring presentations about DELMIA's strategies and product information as well as six customer testimonies. The second day program "Technical Seminar" offered 11 sessions targeted for DELMIA users around the latest innovations and advancements with DELMIA solutions.
    Key customer testimonies in "The Digital Manufacturing Forum" included DaimlerChrysler AG presenting their strategy, goal, approach, current status and the next steps of their digital manufacturing initiatives. They presented DaimlerChrysler's implementation of DELMIA solutions including Process Engineer(R) and DPM Assembly(R). Another keynote speaker from Toyota Motor Corporation made a presentation titled "Digital Manufacturing Tool for the Production Line in Final Assembly Process". Other user speakers included Ishikawajima-harima Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Komatsu, and Seikei University.
    Participants were able to explore the "Technifair" during both days of the conference, where DELMIA partners demonstrated their latest contributions to the DELMIA portfolio.
