Advance Auto Parts Appoints Francesca Spinelli
ROANOKE, Va., Nov. 14, 2002; Advance Auto Parts, Inc. announced today the appointment of Francesca Spinelli, Ph.D., Senior Vice President -- People, RadioShack Corporation , to its Board of Directors, effective November 21, 2002, bringing the total number of directors to twelve. Ms. Spinelli will also serve on the audit and compensation committees.
Ms. Spinelli has a results-oriented background. She has led the People Division of RadioShack as its Senior Vice President, People since 1998. Before joining RadioShack, Ms. Spinelli was with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for five years where she held the positions of Corporate Vice President of Organizational Development and the Vice President of Human Resources for McLane Company, Inc., a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. She also held progressive Human Resources Management positions with APS, Inc. and Dillashaw Hawthorn and Company, PC. Prior to her 17 years in the Human Resources profession, Ms. Spinelli served on the faculty of Case Western Reserve University in the Department of Communication Sciences.

Ms. Spinelli is active in her profession and is recognized as a leading expert in the human resources field. She recently served as the keynote speaker at the 2002 Human Resource Technology Conference and as a panelist at the United States Department of Labor's 21st Century Workforce Summit. In 2001 Ms. Spinelli was named to the Human Resources Executive Honor Roll by Human Resources Executive magazine and was among four finalists for the magazine's HR Executive of the Year award. She is active in the North Texas community and serves on several advisory boards, including the North Texas BOLD Initiative Advisory Council and the Northwestern University School of Speech National Advisory Council.
