MatrixOne Announces Support for IBM eServer System Platform
LAS VEGAS--Nov. 12, 2002--PLM solution integrates with IBM DB2 Universal Database, WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Business Integration software suite
MatrixOne, Inc. , a leading provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the value chain(TM), today announced immediate availability of extended platform support for the complete IBM eServer system and middleware environment. This announcement is made at the MatrixOne Global Customer Conference (GCC) 2002.
MatrixOne has optimized the eMatrix Collaboration Platform(TM) and eMatrix Value Chain Portfolio(TM) applications to support the IBM DB2 Universal Database, the industry's first multimedia, Web-ready relational database management system, and is integrated with the IBM WebSphere(R) Business Integration (WBI) infrastructure software portfolio on IBM AIX and Windows server systems. The WBI family of applications provides a powerful integration platform for tying PLM business data and processes into the rest of a customer's infrastructure, as well as integration capabilities into the customer's supply chain. MatrixOne has also enhanced support for the IBM WebSphere Application Server.
The combined offering provides enterprises with a more effective, secure business collaboration solution to manage their product lifecycle from concept to launch and through after-sale support across companies, functions, geographies, and time zones. Teams can harness the power of product information in cross-enterprise processes and workflows and share the real-time information and content necessary for making critical joint decisions, leading to more innovations, better products, reduced time-to-market, enhanced productivity, and improved bottom-line results.
"Today's announcement represents a major milestone for MatrixOne. By making available MatrixOne's strong collaborative PLM solutions on IBM's robust and proven systems, in particular the IBM DB2 Universal Database, our customers are able to take their PLM solutions to new heights of global deployment and scalability, allowing them to speed product innovations to market," said John Fleming, senior vice president of worldwide marketing of MatrixOne. "We are strongly committed to our expanding global relationship with IBM to address our mutual customers' most demanding requirements."
Murray Mitchell, IBM's Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations Solutions commented, "MatrixOne's application software combined with IBM's premier e-business infrastructure software and implementation services enables customers to quickly realize significant business benefit on a platform that is flexible, secure, and scalable."
In January 2002, IBM and MatrixOne announced a global strategic alliance with the objective to jointly deliver PLM solutions for CPG and Life Sciences customers. The alliance combines the strength of MatrixOne's collaborative PLM solutions, including collaborative product development, strategic sourcing, and global program management, with IBM's comprehensive e-infrastructure and services products.
Immediately available is the eMatrix Collaboration Platform support for the IBM eServer pSeries with AIX v5.1c, the IBM eServer xSeries with Windows 2000, IBM DB2 Universal Database v7.2, and IBM WebSphere Application Server 4.0.x. Availability of the eMatrix Value Chain Portfolio applications for IBM DB2 is phased between now and January 2003.
In addition, MatrixOne integrates with the IBM WebSphere Business Integration 4.1 software suite, which includes WebSphere MQ, WebSphere MQ Integrator, IBM Crossworlds InterChange Server, and MQSeries Workflow.
