Nistevo's 10th Network Community Meeting Brings Together Logistics Professionals from More Than 50 Carriers, 3PLs, Manufacturers and Retailers

    MINNEAPOLIS--Nov. 12, 2002--

Harris Teeter, the Arthur Wells Group, OMI International and Others Participate in Keynote Address; Participants Discuss Benefits
of Network Neutrality, Celebrate Network's Three Billion Mile Mark

Nistevo Corp., the leading Collaborative Logistics Network(SM) for transportation management, announced today that its tenth Network Community Meeting was attended by more than 50 representatives from companies representing all aspects of the supply chain, including carriers, manufacturers, retailers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and technologists in transportation, order management and warehousing. Nistevo's members meet periodically to discuss how to further accelerate the value they derive from the Nistevo Network, sharing member case studies and product updates, participating in collaborative meetings and strategic discussions, and networking with other members.
The meeting's theme focused on the necessity of a neutral collaborative transportation network that equitably supports all parties within the supply chain. In addition, members attended educational sessions and demonstrations of new Network capabilities including automated dock scheduling. Already in pilot by several members, Nistevo's dock scheduling is currently available for $0.25 per appointment. The meeting took place in Minneapolis on Nov. 5-6, 2002.
New Network participants from Harris Teeter, HP Hood, Wells' Dairy, The Arthur Wells Group and several new carrier organizations were in attendance. These organizations will bring an additional 600,000 annual shipments to the Nistevo Network. Within the past four months alone, existing Network members have planned and executed freight shipments totaling more than two billion miles - making total miles planned and executed on the Network more than three billion.
"As a new participant in the Nistevo Network, I was greatly encouraged by Nistevo's leadership, ability to work with the industry at large and desire to further develop a network that benefits everyone," said Larry Cooper, vice president of distribution for Harris Teeter. "As part of the opening address, I was pleased to present the retailer's perspective on strategies to improve the flow of inventory using a neutral transportation network."
In the continued pursuit of a neutral logistics network that equally benefits all participants, Nistevo hosted an executive forum to identify new strategies to improve the flow of finished goods from the manufacturer to the retailer's shelf. During the discussion, participants from The Arthur Wells Group, Harris Teeter, OMI International and Seneca Foods identified several initiatives for strategic improvement that would deliver value in the short-and long-term, including a closed-loop integrated order and shipment cycle.
"This meeting brought together some of the best strategic minds from all aspects of the supply chain," said Hilton Kahn, principal at The Arthur Wells Group. "Only a truly neutral network that benefits each participant - manufacturer, retailer, 3PL and carrier - will prosper in the long-term. Nistevo's leadership in further expanding such a network demonstrates its vision which has already been embraced by many of the industry's leaders."
"Today's economy has reinforced the value of strong business principles and the need for cross-company collaboration to achieve success," said Kevin Lynch, president and chief executive officer of Nistevo. "Through our community meetings, strategic initiatives with industry thought leaders and Network growth, Nistevo aims to become a transportation network that is attractive to all parties through our proven record of streamlining operations and cutting costs out of the supply chain."
