USAR Releases Complete 2003 Schedule
Fayetteville, GA (November 7, 2002) - United Speed Alliance Racing has released a final race schedule for the Hooters ProCup Series for 2003. The schedule will feature 30 race dates and a renewal of the unique two-division format that has made the USAR Hooters ProCup Series one of the most popular short-track racing series in the country.
There are two new tracks scheduled to host 250-lap events in 2003. The Northern Division of the Series will visit Mansfield Motorsports Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio on May 3rd. The Southern Division of the Series will visit the Volunteer State when Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee hosts a race on July 12th.
The only changes from the tentative schedule released two weeks ago is that Winchester Speedway will now host a regular season Northern Division race on June 7th and Motordrome Speedway will once again host a regular season Northern Division race on September 5th. The only other modification to the schedule is at Peach State Speedway, which will now host a Championship Series race on Sunday afternoon November 2nd. The earlier schedule had the race planned for a Saturday night start on November 1st.
Once again each division will be anchored by "home tracks" hosting multiple events. The season will begin in the Southern Division at USA International Speedway on February 22nd. This will be the first of four races to be held at the .750-mile facility in Lakeland, FL in 2003. The Southern Division will also visit the track on May 31st and August 30th. The 2003 season will conclude with the final race of the Championship Series on November 29th.
Jennerstown Speedway will kickoff the Northern Division portion of the schedule with a race on April 12th. The Series returns to Jennerstown for a Championship Series race on October 4th. Three other tracks are also scheduled to host multiple events with Winchester Speedway, Hickory Motor Speedway and Myrtle Beach Speedway each having two events on the schedule.
The season will begin with a Florida swing in the schedule with races at Five Flags Speedway and New Smyrna Speedway set to follow the season opener at USA International Speedway. The Southern Division will return to Ace Speedway and Concord Motorsport Park for Southern Division races.
The Northern Division schedule will feature returns to Lonesome Pine Raceway, Holland International Speedway, Kil-Kare Speedway, New River Valley Speedway, Illiana Motor Speedway, Motordrome Speedway and a new addition to the Northern Division, Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway. As part of their two-race schedule with USAR, Winchester Speedway and Myrtle Beach Speedway will each host one regular season event and one Championship Series race. The five-race Championship Series will begin on September 20th.
