ExxonMobil's Mobil-Branded Lubricants Named ``Official Lubricants of NASCAR''

LAS VEGAS--Nov. 7, 2002--NASCAR named ExxonMobil's Mobil brand of products as the "Official Lubricants of NASCAR" beginning in 2003.
The announcement was made during the 2002 Automotive Aftermarket Parts Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.
An industry leader in the development of innovative, problem-solving lubricants, including synthetics, the Mobil family of automotive lubricants includes motor oil, transmission fluid, gear lubricants and greases, and will join a list of performance products endorsed by the nation's number one motorsport -- NASCAR.
"We couldn't be prouder to announce this marketing relationship with such a well known and respected global brand like Mobil," said Mark Dyer, NASCAR's vice president of licensing and consumer products. "Mobil and Mobil 1(R) are two premier, performance brands with names that NASCAR fans know and respect."
"NASCAR continues to grow and to gain fans who value automotive performance and the measures that must be taken to achieve NASCAR victories," said Jim Marcogliese, executive vice president, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Company. "Race fans know that with Mobil products -- NASCAR's official lubricants -- they realize some of the same performance benefits as the world's top racing teams."
A long-time supporter of NASCAR racing, this marks Mobil 1's 12th season as a major sponsor of Penske Racing South with veteran driver Rusty Wallace and rookie sensation Ryan Newman.
